Volunteering with a Cause, first edition

Guardians in Action

Volunteering with a Cause is an initiative of Fundación Causa Azul A.C. to unite volunteers and create actions that positively impact our community.

On September 29th the first edition of this project was held in collaboration with Clase Azul México’s Talent, Diversity and Inclusivity department and Bosque Urbano de Extra A.C.; volunteering and awareness activities were held to preserve our artisanal legacy, through caring for the environment and the conservation of natural resources which are used as raw materials used to make handicrafts.

During the experience, volunteers went on a tour of the forest and the installations of the nursery; afterwards, they participated in activities related to tree production, such as filling bags with soil and cleaning areas where the trees proliferate.

Two workshops were held, the first to learn the artisanal technique of weaving with ocoxal, headed by master artisans Ana and Azucena Uribe, and the second was focused on how to make urban gardens.

Let’s become Guardians in Action to continue joining efforts for the preservation of Mexican culture and artisanship.
