From Tlaquepaque, María de Jesús has dedicated 15 years to barro policromado, creating unique, non-serial pieces—especially her well-known hearts. She learned by observing and helping.
She has been part of Mujer Artesana and Guardianes de la Cultura, and completed training such as Huellas Digitales and artisan certifications. She has participated in local exhibitions and six years of projects with Fundación Causa Azul A.C., including Encuentro Guardianas de la Cultura, the 'Nosotras' exhibition, the Acciones Estratégicas I and II diplomas, and the Guardianas de la Cultura Pavilion.
For María, art is a way to explore emotions and share introspective thoughts. Being a Guardian of Culture means sharing what she has learned and keeping traditions alive.
