From Tlaquepaque, María Luisa belongs to the second generation of artisans dedicated to polychromed clay. She learned the craft at age 12 under the guidance of her grandmother.
Her work focuses on the creation of nativity scenes, combining tradition and creativity. She has been part of the Casa de Artesano collective and has taken complementary courses to enrich her craft.
She has participated in local exhibitions and projects by Fundación Causa Azul A.C., including the Encuentro Guardianas de la Cultura, the 'Nosotras' exhibition, and the Acciones Estratégicas II program.
For María Luisa, being a Guardian of Culture means pride and personal growth.
