Pedro Romo de la Rosa

Pedro Romo, a master artisan in pedal loom weaving, hails from San Andrés, Tlaquepaque. His passion for craftsmanship began in his father's workshop, "Taller de Textiles Artesanales hechos en Telar de Pedal," founded in 1915. Inspired to teach textile art and wool weaving, Pedro later diversified into various materials, including acrylics, cotton, and jute, innovating the technique. His work has earned national and international recognition.

Pedro's expertise extends to Trade and International Relations, and he has received training from the Dirección de Fomento Artesanal. His works have been exhibited in various museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Textile Museum in Washington, and in several hotels. He has collaborated with renowned designers, architects, interior designers, and national folk art galleries.

Recently, he participated in promotional campaigns with Fundación Causa Azul A.C., such as “Día del Artesano” and “Legado Cultural,” aiming to promote his work and enhance the appreciation of Mexican handicrafts.
