Susana García belongs to the third generation of artisans in her family. From an early age, she learned various folk art techniques, such as palm weaving, typical of the Mixtec indigenous people.

She studied at the Jesuit University of Guadalajara, where she began developing sociocultural projects benefiting Mexican handicrafts, with a focus on fair trade and solidarity economy. Since then, she has dedicated herself to rescuing and preserving artisanal techniques and processes, aiming to generate dialogue, reflection, and increased appreciation for an ancestral cultural legacy undervalued in her country.

For Susana, handicrafts are a valuable family process, sharing feelings and beautiful stories passed down with love. “Crafting takes me closer to myself, as it connects me with my roots.”

She has participated in various cultural events showcasing different artistic expressions, such as dance and handicrafts, and specializes in conducting workshops on handicrafts and native languages in educational institutions. She has also provided business and professional support to artisan collectives.

In 2022, she participated in the First Meeting: “Guardianas de la Cultura,” a project developed by Fundación Causa Azul A.C., as well as in promotional campaigns to advocate for community work through handicrafts.
